Hey friends. I’m sitting at soccer practice tonight after a long week. We’ve still been battling ALL THE GERMS at our house this week. I took off work two days to go to the doctor, rest, and recover. The other two days I was at work were pretty stressful and I have lots of legitimate reasons to complain tonight.
But I won’t. I can’t. As I sit here, listening to coaches yelling, boys running and hollering, and reflecting on all this week has brought, I’m reminded of how good God is. Even when the days are long and the stress is heavy, God cares for me.
And the only proper response when I think about that fact is worship.
In Exodus 4, after Moses hashed out his fears with the Lord, he headed out to do what God had called him to do. And when the elders of the Israelites heard all that God had told Moses and Aaron to do, verse 31 says that “the people believed, and when they heard that the Lord had paid attention to them and that he had seen their misery, they knelt low and worshiped.”
The Lord paid attention to them. He saw them in their misery. And it led them to worship.
Maybe you’ve had a long week like me this week. Maybe you are going through a miserable season of life, like the Israelites. Be encouraged tonight. The God of all creation cares about you. Let’s worship him.

Amen
